WEDNESDAY APRIL 15TH ILRI Mega-Program Planning · Follow up with John about the Mega programme session(s) – who needs to be involved, how people will be informed etc [Shirley].
THURSDAY APRIL 15TH
· Adjust timing of Session 1 (State of Union) to take account of reduced time available. [Alan]. Livestock Bads and Goods: Setting the Scene · Henning will not attend APM. Mario will cover Henning’s presentation. Recommend Tom to summarize and balance the scene as chairperson and also pose the questions [Alan to contact Tom]. · Presenters will finalize and forward their presentations to Peter [Narayan, Mario, Delia, Tara] by early Monday – Peter to chase · Wednesday April 14 during coffee break [10:00 – 10:30] Delia, Mario, Tara, Tom, Narayan will discuss to come up with question to be posed after each presentation. Meeting will be held at Bruno’s Office. Wubalem to invite the presenters to this meeting including Tara by phone if possible – need a number for Tara. · Delia will send a reminder/invitation to presenters that are expected to make a presentation - request for the presentations first thing on Monday (12th) so Delia can put all the slides into one presentation and if need be, edit. [Nancy, Shirley, Vish, Steve, An]. NRS Staff Meeting · There will be a 30 min coffee break session during break between NRS/IRS staff meetings and Questions and Answer on Goods and Bads. Revise and indicate the coffee break session between the above mentioned sessions on the programme [Peter]. Knowing Me, Knowing you · Ten groups will be created and answer subsidiary questions and will be a tournament. 10 people are required to give logistics assistance. Peter will recommend colleagues from KMIS [Bruno to co-ordinate]. FRIDAY APRIL 16 Engaging better with research partners · For this and other sessions Susan will organize recording of the proceedings through blogs and by filming elements of all sessions. Volunteers are welcome for blogs. · No confirmation received from Sokoine University [participants from Tanzania]. · Facilitators for Saturday morning will also take notes relevant to their topics throughout the discussions · Need to make sure these folks also have badges - Peter
· Discussion between organizers of this session will be carried out during APM [Peter]. · Peter will update timetable on wiki [Peter] will make his final speech for 30 minutes Marketplace · Will incorporate mini-workshops and four “livestock matters” which will be presented as short interviews · 28 scientific posters have registered these will be put in the infocenter on Sunday, with subsets as part of the market place stands. · The programme for the marketplace will be prepared separately and incorporated in folder [ Peter]. SATURDAY APRIL 17 Livestock goods and bads: working more effectively with development partners · Iain will follow up with session participants · Send a message to Biruk to help on IT facilitation required in this session [Alan].
Filling the gap · The group discussions need to consider the new mega-program structure but not be too diverted from their original purpose · Update details of this session on wiki [Elaine]. · Peter and Alan will invite dragons (Dieter, Emmy, Tom, John G) and brief them once they arrive. · Alan to make reference to this session in opening remarks so that people can be thinking about it from the start, including if other topics should be added.
Pitches session
· No power point presentations allowed. · Recommend to have a big time counter on screen. Alan will arrange with IT to use internet timer. Closing · APM highlight video, learning/reflections/take away, poster competition announcement and reflections by Carlos are the detail programme of closing session. OTHERS New staffs introduction
· Still waiting for list of new recruited staff after the last APM. Alan to follow up again with HR
· Organizers of each session will have detail programme same as wiki. Peter will finalize and distribute. · Recommend to prepare different name tag for external presenters [Peter]. Brown bags · 14 brown bag sessions have registered. · Forward one extra brown bag session to Peter to incorporated in the program [Aynalem]. #_msocom_1
